Make an Artist Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to making art and creativity more accessible to children. Our mission is to enhance art programs for children and youth worldwide.
Teachers & Schools
Make an Artist Foundation® enhances art programs in schools by providing students with a greater selection of creative materials and tools. By doing so, we also reduce the financial burden on teachers, as many teachers often have to pay out of pocket for the supplies they need to provide quality art education. By donating art supplies, Make an Artist Foundation® supports teachers and schools in providing their students with the best possible learning experiences.
Shelters
Art is a powerful way to express feelings and emotions, especially for those living in shelters who may be facing difficult situations. Art allows youth to express themselves in a positive and constructive way. Additionally, art can help build confidence, encourage problem-solving, and provide an outlet for youth to explore their identity. By donating art supplies to shelters, Make an Artist Foundation ensures that youth have the opportunity to experience the therapeutic benefits of art and the power of self-expression.
Refugee Camps
By improving art programs in low-income communities, Make an Artist Foundation® addresses critical issues related to trauma and social marginalization as well as improves the academic achievement and social development of children and youth. Art can help to create a sense of community and belonging in a new place, helping refugees to form connections with their new environment and with each other. By enabling children and youth to express themselves in a safe environment, Make an Artist Foundation® helps refugee children build self-esteem and foster a sense of belonging and connection.
Hospitals
Art therapy can play a significant role in a child's healing process. Through our Healing Hearts Program, we provide art supplies to hospitalized children. Hospitalization can be a traumatic experience. Art therapy can help children understand and work through their experiences, reducing stress and promoting emotional resilience.
Make an Artist Foundation has been awarded the Platinum Seal of Transparency. The Platinum Seal of Transparency is the highest award given by Candid and puts Make an Artist Foundation in the top 0.1% of charities nationally in terms of transparency. This award means that we share clear information with the public about our goals, strategies, capabilities, achievements, and progress. As a result, you can easily find in-depth financial information about our organization and can be confident that your contribution will bring art into more children’s lives.
About the Founder
For artist and photographer Kittiya Pawlowski, creating art has always been a way to give back. The inspiration behind the Make an Artist Foundation began with her own creative journey, a journey that taught her how a single photograph can spark conversation, raise awareness, and drive tangible change.
Kittiya, a self-taught artist, uses her camera to create compelling narratives inspired by her travels. Her work goes beyond aesthetics, creating images and digital composites that highlight critical environmental and social issues. Through her art, she has seen firsthand how creativity can be a powerful tool for positive change, a belief that became the cornerstone of the Make an Artist Foundation.
As founder, Kittiya is dedicated to ensuring other aspiring young artists have the same opportunity. The Foundation's mission is to empower children by providing them with the creative tools and resources they need to express themselves, find their voice, and create art that makes a difference in the world.
