Voices of Peace

Voices of Peace Project

Bogota, Colombia

We provided the canvas and art supplies for Voices of Peace. An art project to help children and families affected by the ongoing war in Colombia.

Millions of families have had to abandon their homes due to armed conflict in Columbia. To help heal from the trauma of war, refugees and members of the community painted a canvas mural at the Center for Memory, Peace and Reconciliation in the city of Bogota.

The mission of the Center of Memory, Peace and Reconciliation is to contribute to the construction of peace, with the participation of the different population sectors of Bogotá through the promotion and strengthening of memory processes that make visible the different experiences related to the armed conflict, contribute to the generation of spaces meeting and reconciliation, transformation of imaginaries and appropriation of human rights.

Voices of Peace was organized by Salomé Cosmique, a trauma-informed teaching artist who works as an educator in different projects in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
